In the year 1997 Art Scene China was launched as an online gallery to familiarize the masses in China and across the globe with the contemporary arts of China. Eventually when it became more popular, 3 physical galleries were established – 2 in Shanghai and 1 in Beijing – to serve the rising public demands.
Art Scene China hosts numerous exhibitions presenting the works of around 25 renowned and veteran artists. The most notable exhibitions of Art Scene China are the ‘Harvest I’ and ‘Harvest II’ – recorded as the finest and the largest modern photography show of Shanghai.
Taking the local talents to the international arena, Art Scene China represents its artists in many international art expositions such as in San Francisco International Art Expo, Art Miami, Art Chicago and Art Cologne in addition to China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE).

To encourage, accolade and promote the works of budding young artists of China, the gallery also founded the Chinese Art Prize in 2005. Their effort was well received with over 800 applicants for the first Chinese Art Prize contest, where a special panel of judges representing renowned galleries and museums worldwide were present to judge the event.
Positioned on the Moganshan Road in the area of Shanghai’s Suzhou Creek “Artists’ Quarter”, sits one of its galleries by the name – Art Scene Warehouse. The floor area of this gallery spans about 1800 square meters, showcasing a stunning collection of Chinese contemporary art. This gallery exhibits mostly large artworks, high in value as well as glamor.
Smaller artworks that can be easily mounted in your homes and corporate firms can be found in the other gallery in Shanghai called – Art Scene Classic. This gallery focuses more on classical yet contemporary arts that can be used to decorate your homes. Sited in Dashanzi, Beijing is the 3rd art gallery of Art Scene China, known as Art Scene Beijing. This gallery features a good collection of artworks of emerging and popular artists in a 635 square meter floor space.
